SMC Nationwide Open Houses to Celebrate National Pneumatics Day 2025

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (March 10, 2025) – National Pneumatics Day, established by SMC Corporation of America in 2021 and celebrated annually on April 27th, highlights the power of air and the critical role of pneumatics in sustainable automation. Coincidentally, SMC Corporation was also founded on this same date in 1959 and has since grown into the world’s largest manufacturer of pneumatic components for industrial automation.

To honor National Pneumatics Day, individuals and businesses are encouraged to maintain their industrial compressed air systems. Key maintenance practices include minimizing air leaks, replacing pneumatic air filter elements, and reducing supply pressure from air compressors. These efforts contribute to lower electricity consumption, reduced industrial CO₂ emissions, and minimized machine downtime.

For 2025, SMC is celebrating National Pneumatics Day with a series of engaging events, including nationwide open houses, a virtual keynote webinar, the Sustainability in Automation Award presentation, a community day at SMC headquarters, and a social media contest for aspiring engineers.

Nationwide Open Houses

On Friday, April 25th, SMC will host nationwide open houses at all U.S. sales branches, including the North American headquarters in Noblesville, IN, in celebration of National Pneumatics Day.

Local customers and industrial automation professionals are invited to explore Your Future Factory, where they will gain insights into total cost of ownership (TCO), digitalization, and efficient design using SMC eTools. Each open house will feature over 15 interactive product demonstrations, showcasing SMC’s latest product innovations.

Sustainability in Automation Award
