Norgren has expanded its range of proportional valve solutions, offering users enhanced application advantages and operational efficiency. Norgren’s proportional valves convert variable electrical signals into proportional compressed air output, making them a vital component of any industrial compressed air system requiring precision and long-term reliability.

The updated VP23, VP60, and the new VP50 proportional valves now feature IO-Link functionality. This enhancement helps industrial users gain better control over their compressed air systems, achieve higher output, and improve quality control in typical process control scenarios or industrial environments. Additionally, the new proportional valves are easier to install, faster, and reduce commissioning time.

To meet the industry’s growing demand for improved connectivity and data visibility, the new VP50 IO-Link proportional valve builds on the proven and popular features of the existing VP50 valve, offering a range of additional benefits. IO-Link connectivity allows users to access sensor-level data, enhancing data availability and enabling the valve to play a crucial role in the smooth operation of system components.

Operators can read and modify device parameters through the control system, supporting quick configuration and commissioning goals.

The VP50’s IO-Link also provides users with clear and concise visibility to check for errors, cycle counts, and internal temperature feedback, enabling quick and straightforward extended diagnostics and allowing for preventive maintenance measures to avoid potential issues.

The technical specifications of the VP50 include a pressure range of 0-10 bar, a temperature range of 0 to 60°C, and a response time of <100 milliseconds.

Enhanced Features of Norgren VP23 and VP60

The existing VP23 and VP60 proportional valve solutions have also been further developed, both benefiting from IO-Link connectivity. These valves are ideal for general industrial pressure and flow control applications requiring high flow rates and fast response times. The VP23 offers a three-way closed-loop pressure control solution, while the VP60 provides flow control through a direct-acting spool valve using glandless spool valve technology.

Both the VP23 and VP60 valves benefit from IO-Link digital-driven command signals and feedback, offering greater flexibility in setup and operation compared to traditional analog settings.
